About Osterville Pilates
Osterville Pilates is a highly specialized, friendly, and personal boutique studio centrally located in the quaint village of Osterville on Cape Cod.
What makes us unique is that we challenge our clients to achieve their best physical fitness while striving to make everyone who comes to our studio feel welcome. Our comfortable, unpretentious environment is friendly to all, regardless of fitness level or age group.
Our main focus is to enhance core strength and balance, improve posture and flexibility, and to relieve back pain and stress.
We emphasize a unique and therapeutic method of training for our clients that challenges the body and the mind, providing a high quality exercise experience that can really help to change them for life.
Meet the Instructors
Jennifer has been teaching Pilates for almost 20 years. She graduated from Springfield College with a BS in Recreation/Business. After moving to Cape Cod, she became fully certified in both Pilates Mat and Machine training by West Coast Pilates (Kathy Corey) and Physical Mind.
She is a former college gymnast and dancer with over 30 years of fitness experience, teaching and coaching to people of all ages. Jen has trained everyone from professional athletes to students who are just beginning to learn about Pilates. She has worked with many clients rehabilitating from surgery and injuries as well, giving special attention to the needs of older clientele.
She has a great appreciation of how Pilates can help her clients achieve their fitness goals and thoroughly enjoys sharing her knowledge and love of exercise!
Karyn Metois began practicing pilates in 2002. Instantly hooked, she pursued a STOTT certification in Mat and Reformer through intermediate levels which she finished in 2010. In addition to her Pilates certification Karyn completed the Total Barre course and became certified in 2013.
Working in greater Boston and on the Cape for many years, she has worked with young adults to more mature clients looking for strength, stamina and peace of mind in their workouts. With fitness always being a priority, Karyn studied dance in her younger years with a focus on tap, jazz and ballet.
In another life, she was a window dresser with a degree in Fashion Merchandising from Framingham State College. Karyn currently lives on the Cape where she enjoys spending time with her family and incorporating mindful movement into everyday life.
Luanne M. Persson, E-RYT, CMT
Luanne has a Bachelor’s Degree from Curry College and delved into practicing yoga over 25 years ago, while on the West coast working in corporate sales and marketing to help manage back pain and stress. She has an East coast meets West coast approach to teaching, since she has obtained certification as an advanced yoga instructor and certified massage therapist on both coasts. She has been teaching and operating Avalon Health and Wellness Studio and teaching for over 18 years.
Luanne has developed and taught several workshops and thematic classes at yoga studios, corporate facilities and resorts such as “Back Care Yoga” and “Tune Your Immune”, as well as sports/athletic related classes for tennis and golfers. She enjoys creating a therapeutic approach to teaching - meshing the elements of anatomy, alignment, meridian work, and lifestyle assessment, to provide an opportunity where every body type can fully explore their potential for health and wellness.
