Monica has been on the move for 40 years. At age seventeen she was already teaching jazz dance for beginners. At her hometown of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, she trained and worked as a dancer for over 10 years along with pursuing her B.S. in Communications – Advertising.

After moving to Southern California in 1992 she became certified by the American Council of Exercise (ACE), in both Group Exercise instruction and personal training. As a fitness instructor there she  worked with a variety of clients in both corporate and regular gyms teaching step, conditioning, and stretch classes.

During her years in San Diego Monica  learned and practiced yoga with instructors from the well-known Ashtanga Yoga Center in Encinitas, California.

Upon her arrival on Cape Cod, thirteen years ago, she started taking Pilates with Jen Fogarty – a natural path to follow her dance and fitness background. She eventually became certified  by Stott Pilates and is trained in Mat, Reformer and the Barrels. She has been a Pilates instructor for ten years and has continually taken workshops in the area.

Two and a half years ago she became certified in the Booty Barre method and was trained by its founder, Tracey Mallet. As a barre instructor, she has continued to update her training, having added a Barre Sculpt certification and yearly taking workshops between Boston and Tracey’s base in South Pasadena.
